Gujarat's first data centre policy names Dholera its primary location
Gujarat launched the Viksit Gujarat Data Centre Policy 2026-29 on 9 July 2026, naming Dholera SIR the state's primary data centre location, with a 2.5 percent capital subsidy confined to Dholera projects.
The policy is Gujarat's first dedicated to the sector. State-wide targets are over Rs 6 lakh crore in investment and 7.5 GW of capacity across the policy period; both are targets, not committed capital. Incentives reported for Dholera projects include the 2.5 percent capital subsidy, interest subsidy of up to 4 percent for ten years, power tariff support, SGST and electricity duty reimbursement, and stamp duty exemptions.
Coverage of the launch says the Dholera cluster alone is expected to host 7 to 8 GW of capacity over time. The policy lands on top of the L&T Vyoma AI data centre agreement signed for Dholera in February 2026.
