The Airports Authority invited proposals to put flying training schools at Dholera airport
DeshGujarat reported on 2 March 2026 that the Airports Authority of India has invited proposals to establish flying training organisations at the Dholera airport, to build domestic pilot training capacity and reduce reliance on programmes abroad.

A flying training organisation is a licensed flight school. Putting them at a new airport is a common way to give it traffic and revenue before scheduled airlines arrive, and it needs a runway and airspace rather than a finished passenger terminal, which is roughly what Dholera has.
The airport is being built by Dholera International Airport Company Limited, owned by the Airports Authority at 51 percent, Gujarat at 33 percent and the central corridor trust at 16 percent, a split independently confirmed by the 2022 Cabinet release. How many schools have been selected is not recorded.
