Two government releases give two different costs for the same expressway
The road transport ministry said on 27 February 2026 that the Ahmedabad to Dholera expressway was built at a total project cost of Rs 5,800 crore. The Prime Minister's Office said on 30 March 2026 that it was built at a cost of over Rs 5,100 crore. The two statements are 31 days and about Rs 700 crore apart.
Confirmed by an official document: a government release, a filing, or the company's own published statement.
We are not adjudicating. Both are official releases, both carry release identifiers, and both are printed below so the difference can be seen rather than smoothed over. Treat the over Rs 5,100 crore as a floor rather than a point figure, because that is how it is written.
Cost figures for large road projects legitimately differ by scope, since one may include land acquisition and another may not, and neither release states its scope. That is an explanation for how it can happen. It is not a reconciliation, and nobody has published one.
